To begin your study of the life of Muad‘Dib, then, take care that you first place him in his time: born in the 57th year of the Padishah Emperor, Shaddam IV. Die Melange ist das finanzielle Herz aller MAFEA-Aktivitäten. Ohne das Gewürz könnten die Ehrwürdigen Mütter der Bene Gesserit ihre Aufgabe der Beobachtung und Einflussnahme nicht erfüllen, die Navigatoren der Gilde könnten keine sicheren Wege durch den Raum erkennen und Milliarden Bürger des Imperiums würden an Suchtdrogenentzug sterben. Selbst ein Dummkopf erkennt, dass eine solche Abhängigkeit von einem einzigen Grundstoff zum Missbrauch führen muss. Wir alle schweben in großer Gefahr.
